It has been 17 (almost 18) years of knowing my husband, five years of being a couple, four years of living together, and a little over a year of being married to him, and I still love to see him walk through the door; I mean get excited when I hear him back in the yard. Most times, I am right along with Tica (our dog), meeting him at the door.
I had this realization a few weeks ago, as I was home alone (which rarely happens) and expecting him, and every time I heard loud music (gotta love that he is a music junkie) I thought it was him. When I actually hear his car back in the yard, I get as excited as a kid seeing its mom after a long day.
Life has become way more hectic these days and so most times that he comes through the door I am mid – fixing a kids issue, or pulling food out the oven, but I try to do like I did when things were a little more simple as much as I can; plant a smooch on him, grab his bags to lighten his load, and greet him with love!
Sounds so cliche, but I really love him more and more as time passes, life brings new experiences with each day the sun rises. Such a blessing, and I am so thankful!
Be blessed,
What makes you feel like a kid again? What reminds you of the love you have for your spouse/partner?
