I don’t know what recently made me think of these things, but weren’t they something special? (If you were an 80’s baby like me, anyway).
I had about 4 of these things, and you felt all the way official with the little birth certificate that came with them. I thought I was something pretty special when I got one that had the ore regular doll hair as opposed to the yarn hair that you couldn’t do anything to but twist and braid.
Do little girls these days even really play with dolls anymore?
My daughter liked any doll that she could style their hair. She has recently gotten a real mannequins’ head, although she hasn’t been told all that she could do with it (i.e., apply heat and so on) cause I am not ready for her to burn my house down; she loves the thing. She is practicing braid and styling, and hopefully I can use her to do my head to pay me back for all the time I have to spend on her. (I might be being petty for a moment – doing hair has become one of my least favorite things these days.)
Anyhoo, just thought I’d share.
Do you all remember the cabbage patch kids?
Did you have one?
Be blessed,

I absolutely loved my cabbage patch doll from the top of her yarn ponytails to the bottom of her tatooed butt. That doll was given to me by my grandfather who has since passed on but was one of the best Christmas memories that I have as a child. I wish my daughters were doll baby girls, I even purchased a cabbage patch for my now 9 year old about 5 years ago and it ended up in my closet because of the little attention she received. The eighties were definitely the era to grow up in!!!!
