I remember as a young girl, not that long ago, being on the playground and having so much fun. “Back in the day” we were able to be entertained without the need for electronics, specialized lessons, and all of this other stuff these 21st century youngins act like they can’t live without.
If it was semi-warm outside, not raining and our parents said we could, we were outside; running, playing, riding bikes, just having a good time and exercising without even knowing it; hence the reason childhood obesity was rare in those days. (But that’s another topic for another day)
Today’s memories fall back on two things I could be outside doing for hours and have to be summoned in the house to bring them to an end….
Hey honies and Happy Monday! How was your weekends?
Mine was pretty uneventful but cool…
Let’s recap, shall we?
So Friday was exciting for a couple reasons. And by exciting I mean in the lame mommy homebody kind of way, but none the less exciting to me. I left for a little bit and went and got my seasonal hair trim. Get ready cause this is the first fun part….I had it blow dried for the second time since I went natural (November 2011). This stuff is getting LONG!!!!
And as if that wasn’t enough excitement for one night, I came home at 9:45ish and wouldn’t you know hubby had the boy sleeping and he was sleep for the night and not one of those little cat naps he usually does when he falls asleep before 1030. When are you coming back?? I, like all the other scandal-a-holics, are going into withdrawal with this little hiatus you have taken.
I miss you. I can’t begin to tell you how much I look forward to us being back on a regular visitation schedule. I am currently negotiating with my little guy as much as I can to allow us to be together; I am just trying to convince him that your presence doesn’t mean that I forget about him. I am confident he almost understands and will welcome you into both of our lives in the near future.
I will be just like this!!!
When we moved here six months ago, I was excited about all the space and the ability to better organize and keep clean and uncluttered. Since moving in I have discovered that it is hard to keep you clean, probably because I never got you all the way together in the beginning and there are so many projects I hope to complete. Just know I (we) still plan to get you together….as RJ permits, lol. Read more...
You are free to leave here now. I know I haven’t put in as much work as I should to get my dear friend, pre pregnancy body to come back, but you are no longer welcome. I’m sorry that I sent you the wrong message that you were welcome to stay while I was nursing, changing stinky diapers, dealing with sleep deprivation and still trying to my regular awesome self.
Things are getting ready to get back to a new state of normal around these parts and you are not welcome to be a part of that endeavor.
I do, however, want to thank you for not being as bad as you could have been. I mean with all the snacking and cravings I had while carrying the little bambino, you sure could have done me way worse. I appreciate you for that. Read more...
